Worldline Belux Implementation guide

🛈 Important This topic applies only to Worldline Belux |
This section guides you through the discrete implementation steps in order to complete a successful implementation.
MAX Pay Global supports the Worldline Belux / CTEP Protocol for card-present in-person store transactions at the Point of Sale. Worldline CTEP protocol supports several ‘attended’ devices including the popular Yomani device that is in wide use in the Benelux region of countries.
Retail Realm supports the POS payment features that are required to run a retail store. Details are listed in the specification. MPG is available to support Store Commerce, CPOS, local dedicated and shared hardware stations.
The Retail Realm MAX Pay Global implementation requires a Windows service to be deployed at each Hardware station location (POS Register if you are using Store Commerce, or on the Windows machine that is hosting the IIS Shared Hardware station). This acts as a bridge between MPG and the Hardware station. This service must be started when the Windows machine boots up and should be left running.
Logging in and out of the Payment Terminal
In order to process transactions, the POS register must log into the Worldline Belux device. A Custom operation is provided (6020) for this which allows a Custom button to be placed on the POS using the standard HQ UX.
Managing IP addresses
If you have opted for a UTP deployment, meaning your Payment terminals are configured for either wired LAN or Wifi, there is a set way to reference the payment terminal from the POS. In this case, the IP address is configured under the standard register setting. The Port number can either be input here, or placed in the Hardware profile, in which case, it will be common for all terminals. The port number on the Register profile overrides the setting on the Hardware profile. For further information, please refer to the Hardware profile documentation.
Managing RS232 port numbers
In this topology, the Port number is referenced on the Hardware profile and must be common for all registers.
UTP has the advantage of being a modern connection whereas for large deployments, a common Com-port number may simplify initial configuration and maintenance. Where USB to Com port convertors are required, we would recommend looking at these very closely and UTP may be the better way to go. Retail Realm ultimately recommends referring to Worldline’s documentation and advice on which communication method to use and to consult with your hardware manufacturer.
CPOS Installations
MPG supports CPOS. You must install the shared hardware station and the MPG Hardware station extensions. You must also ensure that the EFT POS Number is set to a unique number (1255). Multiple CPOS registers can be used to point to a single shared hardware station that is configured for Worldline Belux.
Supported functionality
Worldline Belux supports core payment processing functions such as Sale purchase, Refund (referenced refund via the Journal – without the need to re-present the payment card), Void in the case of a partial purchase. Manual card entry is not permitted in Belgium. For further details please contact Worldline or consult their documentation.
Third party components
The Retail Realm MPG payment connector for Worldline Belux has all the necessary third party (Worldline) payment binaries in order to fully install and be ready to accept payments. These (dlls) binaries will be of a certain version and must match the version that the MPG package was compiled against. It is not recommended to use different versions other than those that were provided by Retail Realm.
